2018 Annual Ruck March to End Veteran Suicide

purchase Lyrica Hello Hard Chargers,

http://gradsgate.com/?p=basin Our annual ruck march, now the largest veteran ruck march in New York City, strives to raise awareness of the veteran suicide epidemic in this nation. Currently, over 20 American veterans take their own lives every single day. That is one American hero nearly every hour who felt so without hope, so directionless, that they felt taking their own lives would actually unburden their family and loves ones with what they perceive as unnecessary stress they themselves are responsible for.

I myself have dealt with this epidemic on a very personal level, having lost one of my Marines to suicide after returning home. Many of my fellow veterans have experienced the same deep, personal loss that comes with losing a brother or sister in arms, especially after we had survived heavy combat together.

No veteran should ever feel like this after returning home from war, having seen and experienced the unspeakable horrors of visceral, mortal combat. This is why I launched our annual ruck march in 2014 and this is why through hard work and grass roots efforts, we have been able to double our ruck march participant numbers every year.

Our mission is not only to raise awareness of the dire veteran suicide epidemic but also to educate the American populace and to inspire real action from the community to end this crisis once and for all.  We partner with the most respected veteran service organizations in the city, various companies big and small, as well as the NYPD, FDNY, and other organizations who truly believe in our cause.

We start off with a 3.4 mile ruck march at the USS Maine Monument at Columbus Circle. We gather at this staging area and build camaraderie and good cheer among the veterans, their loved ones, and friends in attendance. We then make a few short yet poignant speeches, and then conduct a short physical training session with our nation’s finest, members of our special operations community. We then step off on a well-paced ruck march around the Upper West Side of Manhattan, escorted by our brother and sisters in the NYPD.

We end the march at the 20th Precinct in the Upper West Side where the amazing officers of the NYPD hold a BBQ social for us. After the BBQ, we are then invited to socialize and bar crawl at the local bars, the Gin Mill and Jake’s Dilemma. Our annual ruck march has proven to be a highly popular and inspiring annual event, enjoyed by all of our veterans and their supporters.

There is absolutely NO cost to attend and participate in this event. We just ask that you to come motivated and with a willingness to spread the word, as well as to help us inspire action to end the veteran suicide epidemic in this nation. We are truly one team, one fight in this battle.
